Tuberkulosis paru, dukungan keluarga, efikasi diriAbstract
Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a global health challenge, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. The success of TB treatment is influenced by various factors, one of which is family support, which enhances patients’ self-efficacy. Good self-efficacy can improve patients’ adherence to treatment and reduce the risk of treatment discontinuation. This study analyzes the relationship between family support and self-efficacy in pulmonary TB patients undergoing treatment at the Pulmonary Clinic of RSUD Poso. This study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample comprised 44 pulmonary TB patients selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using Fisher’s exact test. The results showed that most patients received good family support (79.5%), and most had high self-efficacy (88.6%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between family support and self-efficacy in pulmonary TB patients (p< 0.001). Patients with good family support had higher self-efficacy than those with lower family support. Nurses and healthcare professionals are expected to be more active in educating patients’ families about the importance of their support in the healing process.
