Pediatric early warning system or score (PEWS) is an instrument to identify the deteriorating clinical conditions by comparing clinical manifestations’ evaluation to the scoring system. Implementing PEWS in the electronic health record (EHR) system is a way to increase the accuracy of patients’ management in hospitals. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of PEWS monitoring in EHR. This study uses a literature review was conducted in 2021 to review online databases from 2016-2021. All full-text research in children was included to review PEWS monitoring in the electronic medical record system. Data was reviewed with Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) tools. The results showed three studies are included to show better accuracy of PEWS calculator implementation of 100 percent compared to 71 percent accuracy of manual PEWS. There is decreasing in the median time of graphic plotting from 55 minutes to 20 minutes after intervention. PEWS calculator system also shows better range than manual system. Monitoring of PEWS from electronic medical record systems shows better accuracy and decreases human error than manual PEWS.
